Now with RunCard, you can run all over Italy
The Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) has thought a simple and inexpensive procedure to give to all the foreign athletes the opportunity to take part to marathons and half-marathons in Italy.
In compliance with the Italian law for safety in sports, athletes who do not hold a IAAF membership in their country, can participate with the Runcard which is the Fidal card that includes an insurance policy against injuries (which is compulsory in Italy). It’s valid for 12 months and it costs €15. Together with the medical certification, the card allows you to participate in competitive running events in Italy without any kind of membership from a IAAF-licensed club.
Just print it out or download the APP “Runcard” and present it to the organizers together with the medical certificate, issued in your home country or in Italy for the competitive practice of the sport activity.
The certificate must include the following mandatory exams: medical visit, ECG at rest and after effort, spirometry and test of urines (urinalyses).
